El-Kanemi Warriors technical adviser, Emmanuel King, has expressed confidence that the Nigerian club will secure victory against Union Desportivo of Guinea-Bissau in their CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round clash.
The Borno-based side will host Union Desportivo in the first leg at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne on Sunday.
King gave the assurance during a visit to the team by the Borno State Commissioner, Saina Buba, who expressed confidence in the squad ahead of the continental encounter.
The technical adviser promised that the players would work hard to justify the confidence and support of the state government and their supporters.
“This team will not disappoint you,” King told the commissioner during the visit.
He said the team was focused and determined to make a strong start to the competition, adding that the players understood the importance of securing a positive result in the first leg.
El-Kanemi Warriors will be looking to use the home advantage to establish a strong footing in the tie before the return leg in Guinea-Bissau.
The clash is expected to provide the Nigerian side with an opportunity to begin its continental campaign on a winning note and boost its chances of progressing to the next round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
