<p><strong>Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has constituted the Labour Party (LP) Governorship Campaign Council for the 2027 election, with Dr. Reuben Obioma Orji appointed to coordinate the campaign in Isiala Ngwa North State Constituency.</strong></p><p class="ari-link"><strong>Read also:</strong> <a href="https://sparknewsdaily.com.ng/electricity-nerc-reports-61-51-metering-progress-moves-to-close-billing-gap/">Electricity: NERC Reports 61.51% Metering Progress, Moves to Close Billing Gap</a></p>
<p>The development was contained in a statement issued on Friday, October 2, 2026, and signed by Ferdinand Ekeoma, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity.</p>
<p>Governor Otti will serve as Chairman of the campaign council, while Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, will be Vice Chairman. Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Agwu U. Agwu, was appointed Director-General.</p>
<p>Other members of the state campaign leadership include Dr. Eric Egwuibe, Director of Finance; Dr. Chibuzor Obiesili, Director of Strategy and Planning; Mr. Kelechi Nwaiwu, SAN, Director of Legal; Barr. Onyebuchi Ememanka, Director of Publicity; Dr. Christian Anokwuru, Director of Special Duties; and retired AIG Arungwa Nwazue, Director of Security.</p>
<p>The governor also appointed coordinators for the three senatorial zones, with Professor Udochukwu Ogbonna overseeing Abia Central, Chief Emeka Charles Kalu assigned to Abia North and Hon. <p>At the constituency level, Dr. Reuben Obioma Orji will coordinate Isiala Ngwa North, while Mr. Innocent Eleogu will oversee Ikwuano and Hon. Dannie Ubani will coordinate Isiala Ngwa South.</p>
<p>Other constituency coordinators named include Mr. Emmanuel Maduforo Ufomba for Osisioma North; Mr. Innocent Enyinnaya Anyanwu for Osisioma South; Col. Emeka Chilaka (Rtd.) for Umuahia Central; Chief Okey Onyemuwa for Umuahia East; Dr. Aham Uko for Umuahia North; and Hon. Jerry Uzosike for Umuahia South.</p>
<p>Mr. Ikerionwu Okarimie and Mr. Silas Eke were appointed coordinators for Bende South and Bende North respectively.</p>
<p>The campaign council also includes coordinators for Isuikwuato, Ohafia North, Ohafia South, Umunneochi, Aba Central, Aba North, Aba South, Obingwa East, Obingwa West, Ugwunagbo, Ukwa East, Ukwa West and Arochukwu.</p>
<p>The inauguration of the campaign council is scheduled for Monday, October 5, 2026, at 12 noon at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia.</p>

<p>The constitution of the council formally establishes the Labour Party&#8217;s campaign structure in Abia ahead of the 2027 governorship election.</p>
